How to Name Your Baby

Choosing a name for your precious little newborn baby can be quite a task. Some people have known what they have wanted their baby's name to be since they were children themselves, but then there are the people who are undecided up to the day baby is born. Talk about stress! As you browse through website after website of baby names, it can do one of two things for you. Either it can introduce a name you haven't thought of OR it can just cause utter confusion and make the task even harder.
Here are some steps of how to name your baby:-

Step 1:Choose a time to sit down and discuss names. This can be a one-time date or a reoccurring time until a name is chosen. However, try to pick a time that isn’t stressful and a time in which you are both well rested and able to think.

Step 2:Agree upon some name rules. Try to consider all possible variables: a family name, a modern name, a Biblical name and the number of syllables, certain initials you'd like to avoid, etc.

Step 3:Write a list of ten of your favorite names. It would be best to do this individually rather than as a couple.

Step 4:Discuss the names left on each list.

Step 5:Determine what to name your baby. Decide if you would like to take one name from each parent’s list to create a first name and middle name. If there was an identical name on each list, determine if this will be your baby's name.

Step 6:Write the chosen name on the birth certificate after your baby is born.
